Suppose this post was published two weeks ago, but forgot about it during my illness struck me. It is the fourth times hit me so badly between the last two weeks. The doctor and I still couldn’t find out the cause of my sinus happened. If anyone has any suggest or any advice, you will be so appreciated by me!

I did browse around the internet, some people said the dairy product will cause the sinus, is that true? And the others said maybe some kind of allergy, pets, smoke, or something else. etc…   I really don’t know!

Ok, let’s talk about something else, I missed my kitchen a lot during these two weeks, and I like to share this easy recipe for all of you, wish you like it!

Maybe I should make the vegan ricotta cheese myself next time to eliminate all the dairy product. Yup, it is my next target!

Method:

  • For the pasties:  Sift the flour with salt into a mixing bowl, add cubed cold butter and use a fork to mix it until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.Add ice water a little at a time, tossing with a fork to form a pastry-like dough. Add a bit more water if the dough is a bit dry and crumble.
  • Gather into a ball and wrap with a piece of cling film and chill in the fridge for an hour or overnight.
  • For the filling:  Cook the spinach in the boiling water for approximately 3 minutes, drain and squeeze all the liquid away, and chop into small pieces. Crumble the feta cheese and add in the spinach, then add the walnut pieces with the ground nutmeg and season it.
  • Take the dough away from the fridge and sit in the room temperature for 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F/ 170°C (150°C fan oven), or Gas 3.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal portions, roll the dough out into a round shape on a slightly floured table, place 1/8th of the spinach filling on the half side of the roll out pasty. Fold the other half of the pasty over the filling, seal the edge with a smidgen of water and then crimped very firmly with a fork.
  • Brush with milk and bake into the preheat oven for about 45 minutes, if the pasties aren’t brown enough, increase the temperature 10C more and bake for the last 10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve hot or warm.

  1. Your hand pie’s are wonderful the spinach and feta are a great combination. I am so sorry to hear that you are having problems with sinus infections. I have had one before and know how horrible it is. There can be so many contributing factors to chronic sinus problems. I hope your no dairy is the answer. Feel better!
