Chinese Healthy Tea~Longans & Ginger Tea【養生茶飲-桂圓紅棗薑茶】

Firstly, let me explain what it is all about! It is one popular Chinese herbal tea, actually, it is my first post about Chinese Tea.

In our country, we believed that Chinese herbal tea is good for our health. During the four seasons in each year. We’ll have different herbal teas to help our body to maintain our health. But make sure what is your body’s need (I’m not an expert nor a professional),,  it is best to consult a Chinese herbal doctor first.

But this tea suits to all of you! Great, isn’t it?

“In Chinese medicine, longans, also known as ‘dried lychee’ and a heart and spleen and supplementing Qi, invigorating the spleen and stomach, muscles, and other effects. Beauty, modern medicine has demonstrated the effect of prolonging life. Jujube, also known as jujube, BU Zhong Yi Qi, nourishing blood and tranquilizing mind, easing the efficacy of the drug.

在中醫當中,桂圓又稱為龍眼,具有補心脾,益氣血,健脾胃,養肌肉等功效。現代醫學也證明確實有美容、延年益壽之功效。紅棗又名大棗,具有補中益氣,養血安神,緩和藥性的功效。
桂圓與紅棗兩種藥材配伍後,主要功效有補血益氣,養顏美容,溫暖腸胃、子宮。相當適合「虛寒型」體質的朋友們。

It is only a few ingredients to prepare and easy to make. They’re so common and can easily get it from all the oriental supermarket.

Chinese Healthy Tea~Longans & Ginger Tea【養生茶飲-桂圓紅棗薑茶】

Ingredient: 

  • 20g Longans 龍眼/ Dried lychee
  • 50g Red jujube / Chinese Red Dates
  • 10g Goji 枸杞子
  • 15g Fresh ginger
  • 10g Raw brown sugar (optional, I haven’t use it)
  • 500ml Water

Method: 

  1. Washed the dates and remove the stones, cut in half.
  2. Shredded the fresh finger.
  3. Bring all the ingredients to the boil, except the sugar. Lower the heat after boil and simmer for another 20 minutes.
  4. Add the sugar in and let it dissolved, off heat and serve hot.

Chinese translate:

材料:
桂圓乾/龍眼20克,紅棗50克, 枸杞子10克,  生薑15克,紅糖10克 (可以不放 ),清水500 mL

作法:
1.將紅棗洗淨後對半切開,去核
2.將生薑切絲
3.所有材料(除紅糖外)放入鍋中後加熱,大火燒開轉小火繼續煮20分鐘
4.最後加入紅糖調味即可

  1. The tea sounds so good Mochi, I will try to find all the ingredients and make it. There is a fabulous Chinese tea shop in Manhattan China Town. I bet they have the dried lychee’s and red dates. Wonderful and healthful.
