Vegan Golden Marble Pound Cake

I make this cake for a special purpose – Happy Father’s day tomorrow! Let’s have a party & celebrate! 🎉🎈🍹

Luckily, we will have a close friend and her family come and stay with us. We’re planning to have a picnic in the park. The weather will be really hot 30°C. Although we’re not used to this heat-wave if you look back to a few months before. You will appreciate the warm wraps us!

Ground turmeric that I add into the cake batter to give it a golden like, so beautiful! But one imperfection has happened here, I ran out of cocoa powder! The marble mess up in my cake! 😦

Vegan Golden Marble Pound Cake


  • 130g Vegetable oil
  • 175g Ripened Banana, mashed 🍌
  • 85g Unrefined brown sugar
  • 200ml Nut milk
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar or Lemon juice
  • 350g Plain flour (I put 1/2 plain flour & 1/2 cake flour)
  • Pinch of Sea salt
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extra
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Turmeric
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa powder (I only put 1 tbsp because run out of it)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C/160°C in a fan oven.
  2. Put the mashed banana, oil, sugar, vanilla extract and nut milk of your choice in a mixing bowl. Whisk until all well combined. Add the vinegar and slightly mix together.
  3. Sieve the flour, salt, baking powder and turmeric in another bowl. Whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl, mix all well incorporated.
  4. Greased and lined a loaf tin, pour half of the cake batter in the bottom of the baking tin. Sieve the cocoa powder in the remaining half batter, mix well. Pour on top of the loaf tin. Use a skewer to swirl the batter or skip this step.
  5. Bake for around 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown.


  • You can sprinkle some white or dark chocolate chips on top before baked. Or you can ignore it, it is optional! Enjoy! 🎂
  • Otherwise, you can make chocolate ganache on top should be nice as well.
