Would you think it is steak? It tastes like real steak, I know I shouldn’t say so, but it tastes so good with the texture was so real.

This is the easiest way to get a super delicious dish in a quick way. Few ingredients with few steps. Would you think this will be your quick dinner after work?

Firstly of all, cut the aubergine into lengthways. Use the knife’s tip to slit the flesh into the diamond pattern. Spritz some oil on top. Place in the microwave for 2 minutes. Whisk up all the topping ingredients, spread on the top. Then bake in the preheated oven until golden brown. Serve! How many minutes it took to finish?

Isn’t that easy?

  • 2 tbsp Miso
  • 1 tbsp Tahini sauce
  • 1 tsp Raw sugar

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • White sesame seeds for topping

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F, 200C or 180C in a fan oven.
  2. Cut the aubergine in half, use the knife’s tip to cut out the diamond pattern on the flesh. Spritz with oil, then place in the microwave for 2 minutes.
  3. Whisk up the miso, tahini, sugar, paprika, oil together, spread a layer on top, reserve some for later. Sprinkle with some sesame seeds.
  4.  Bake in the hot oven until golden brown and cooked. Insert a skewer into the flesh easily, that’s mean it is done.
  5. Cook the remaining sauce in a small saucepan and drizzle on top of the ‘steak’. Done! 🙂

  1. Using the microwave to speed up the cooking process is brilliant! I don’t eat enough eggplant, but I do love it, right along with a deeply umami miso sauce. Oh yes, this one is going on the menu ASAP!
